Sometimes a piece of writing just hits the spot. I have one of those to share with you today!
Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince is a little essay by Clare Coffey (who is great), and it did that magical thing where a piece of writing perfectly accounts for my love of two very different things, for reasons I hadn't consciously considered. In this case, it's Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen.
Long story short, Bruce Springsteen is Taylor Swift for dads, and that's no knock on Bruce! Just read it for yourself, then enjoy the playlist I made that empirically proves its point!
Shout out to Melissa, who was so thoroughly scandalized by my admission that I haven't listened to Taylor Swift since 2012's Red that she demanded I listen to folklore immediately and provide live reactions. Readers, I listened – it was very good. It was so good.
